how do you check heat sensor on pilot assembly

burner will stay on for about 30 seconds gas valve will close then the restart relay will open gas valve again and restart cycle over .

Make & model would help. Lots of different systems out there. If you have a flame rod then a scotch pad or fine steel wool works for cleaning it.
