how to connect a 95% funace vent


how can i install a 95% afule furnace to a stanard chimney with a old furnace that is that is about 65% i would like to use the higher efficient unit .

how to connect a 95% funace vent


You can't legally.
Unless you run a flue pipe all the way up through your chimney. And then you can't have your water heater or any other natural draft appliance venting in the same chimney.
It must be vented with PVC/ABS(depending where you are may not allow ABS)plastic pipe.

A 90% vented into a regular chimney would have around 5 to 12 gallons a day of condensate forming in the chimney, and destroy the chimney.

So the best option that i would have is to use a standard 80% eff unit for this type of installation which i have

Or side vent the 90%. That is the most common method.
Just have to check that your chimney isn't too big for the water heater only.

Basically 80% is standard, or mid efficiency and non condensing.
And anything 90% or above is high efficiency, or condensing.
