How can you tell when the HSI is ready to go?
I've got a Carrier Weather Maker 9000 58MXA060 (60,000BTU's?) I've had some minor problems with the pressure switch so far. Loose wire, then a new switch. All seems to work fine now. I've ready a few posts about the HSI going bad. Are there symptoms to indicate imminent failure or does it just crap out? Then you hope you have one on hand or they are easy to come by.

How can you tell when the HSI is ready to go?
you need an ohm meter, unplug the HSI and take a reading across it, if more than 200ohms its about to crap up.

HSI is one type of an ignitor. There are others (i.e. spark)
