House Pre-Purchase Inspection Heat Strip Problem

Hello,
My first post here!

I am buying a house in S. FL. Today, we did a HomeInsoection.

The house has a 2006 CarrierFC4ONF060 Air Handler Unit. The AC tested fine, but the resistive heat is not working despite the owner saying it worked this Winter.

Is there a Fuse or something to check? What would one expect this to cost to fix it? Best Case/Worst Case?

I'm fine with DIY and electronics, can I get the parts and fix this myslef?

Thanx!

Les

Where would I go about finding some troubleshooting test points on these?

Any idea of a best case worst case cost? Trying to determine what my potential liabilities are on the house.

Thanx for the help!

Since it was red-flagged during an authorized inspection, the present condition seen by the inspector over-rides what the seller said was fine earlier.

The seller and you should adjust the price to reflect the materials and labor to correct the inadequacy of the system, if possible.

I understand that. I'm just rying to get a worse case best case estimate.

It is a short sale, but that is really irrelavent to my question.

I just am looking for the potential cost one extreme to the other.

Doesn't seem like it would be that much.
