That's a loaded, involved question, with not near enough background info.... Oil fired,..?? Gas,..?? The make-up water pressure regulator could be bad,... The pressure tank could be bad,... how Member   Join Date: Feb 2011 Location: Vancouver BC Posts: 1,410	hot water heat The real question is what pressure do you have in it? Does it vary from being hot to being cold? How high above the boiler is the highest radiator in your home? Does one half of your expansion tank sound empty when you tap it? Is your pressure releif valve venting. What temp is the water showing when operating.

There may be a cause that you need to address also.
