Hot surface ignitor problems
Hello all. I have a Rheem early 90's model hot surface ignitor upflow heater. I have a Honeywell hot sufrace ignition control (S8910U). It was damn cold here last night and the heater went out. Easy enough fix it was just the hot surface ignitor. I replaced it and heat was running almost all night to get back up to 72 degrees from the 50 degrees it had dropped to. Came home today and it was cold. Checked and once again Hot surface ignitor was cracked and not lighting flame. Easy enough I changed it out but this time no lighting. It goes through the light up cycle but hot surface ignitor does not light up.
Honeywell Ignition Control was just installed about 2 months ago. On control it says
pulsing - normal operation
1 pulse - ignition lockout
2 pulse - weak flame signal
3 pulse - internal error.
I have seen it when it is working right. It's very bright and pulses very fast. Now the led light pulses about once every second or so leaving me to believe it is in igniton lockout mode. How do I reset this. Or has anyone else had a similar problem and could tell me what I need to do.
Turn off the power and turn it back on after several seconds.
