Hot Surface Ignitor always on

I have a 17 year old American Standard Natural gas furnace. Lately I've noticed that although the unit otherwise is working properly, the HSI constantly glows orange. 24/7. The furnace starts and runs through it's cycles just fine and keeps the house warm. The control box has an LED indicator that flashes the appropriate normal conditions. I'm concerned that the HSI will burn itself out and that it's probably sucking alot of electricity to keep it hot. I'm thinking that I should replace the White-Rodgers control box, but thats spendy if not the problem.
Any one got a suggestion?

Thanks

I would say that it is the ignition control. I would recommend replacing it. That ignitor produces 1800 degrees. May melt wires etc. if not corrected.

Thanks for the response. Since posting, I was able to talk to a local tech from the company that installed the furnace. He also confirmed that the control board was the culprit and would require replacement. I'm on it.
