Honeywell TrueStream Humidifier?
Hello everyone,

I'm getting ready to purchase a Honeywell TrueSteam humidifier and I'm trying to determine which size I need. My home is approximately 4,300 square feet, but that area is split between three levels.

Finished Attic: 800 sq. ft.
Second Floor: 1,400 sq. ft.
Main Floor: 2,400 sq. ft.

Each floor has its own HVAC system. The first floor heater is located in an insulated garage. The second floor heater is located in an unfinished space within the attic (too cold), and the attic uses a mini-split system (not compatible).

This basically means the only system I can hook into is the garage heater. With that said, which TrueSteam size will I need and what's the most efficient way to distributed the humidified air between each floor?

I have installed them and it is not a simple concept. The unit cannot be too big for the airflow capacity of your furnace or it won't carry away the steam fast enough and it will condense on your ductwork and cause water damage etc. What brand and model and serial # of furnace do you have? Post some pics of it and the ductwork and we may better look at it. You can use at least a 6 gallon and if the ducts and fan are large enough probably a 9 gallon. It will not do the whole house and there is no real way to make that happen. Here is the Honeywell website and you can find more info on them in the Homes product section:Honeywell Environmental And Combustion Controls
You need a floor drain and separate 15 amp circuit for it as well.

You can probably use the 12 gallon on your first floor.
And a remote mounted 9 gallon on your second floor.
