Honeywell Thermostat not shutting off after reaching temp

My Honeywell thermostat is set for 80 during the day and when it reaches 80 it will shut off and then turn back on within a few minutes. I have looked at the installers guidelines and have been hesitant to change much but think there must be a setting that would have a 2-3 degree variation from the set temp. Thanks for the help!

Honeywell thermostats don't have a temp offset in them. Check the CPH setting, see if its set higher then 3, if so set it to 3 or 2.

Okay ... I have CPh for the following:

1. CPh for 1st stage compressor
2. CPh for 2nd stage compressor
Both of which are set at 3
3. CPh for 1st stage conventional heat
4. CPh for 2nd stage conventional heat
Both of which are set at 5 (stand forced air systems)
5. CPh for 3rd stage heat (auxiliary - do not think I have)
6. CPh for Em heat (emergency heat - ditto 5)

So do you think I should set 1 and 2 to 2? And frankly I don't think I have a second compressor so likely only #1. Thanks loads!

Has this happened since it was installed? And with extreme weather....very cold or very hot, a "few" minutes isn't too unusual. Some thermostats can be adjusted to have a 2 or 3 degree sweep...yours cannot.

Lower your CPH to 2. An see if that makes it better.
