Honeywell Thermostat

Trying to changge out old white rodgers for new digital honywell and cant find out what W3 is for? My old thermostat had wires and connections for:

x=blue
w3=pink
w2=white

e=brown
b=nothing
A1=cant see in pic

Im going to look into air handler and outside unit and follow up with brand and size. Im not familiar with this unit since its my rental and havnt seen the inside since it was installed approx 8 yrs ago. my new therm doesnt have a w3 on it? will post a pic when I can figure out how to not exceed limit on upload pics

Honeywell Thermostat

Ok, gonna try again with lower res pics tonight. Its an intertherm air handler and I forgot what brand condenser? But current wiring connections are like this:

old thermostat

x=light blue
w3=pink
w2=white
l=grey
r=red
g=green
o=orange
y=yellow
e=brown
b=nothing/empty

air handler
w2=pink
w1=2white wires
o=empty
y=empty
g=green
r=red
c= light blue and blue

condenser
c=blue
y=yellow
o=orange
w2=white
r=red
e=brown

cant figure out how to wire up light blue, grey, and pink. Pink is wired to w3 on old thermostat and to w2 on air handler? My new thrmostat doesnt have a w3 connection! Any suggestions ??

what model new thermostat do you have? L is HP fault...and is not necessary on new stat. X = C. pink is going to vary depending on the model of the new thermostat. Need the stat info before we can tell you how to wire it.

is the air handler variable speed? if so it will need O and Y installed to the board.

the second pic is of the air handler so i dont think its variable speed since there is nothing attached to o and y on circuit board in air handler. there are orange and yellow wires attached to o and y on circuit board in condenser though.

the model number of new thermostat is RCT8102A
