Honeywell Oil Ignition Control

Ignition control for oil furnace is making a humming or buzzing sound while the furnace isn't running. It never stops buzzing. This ignition control has a small appendage that sticks out the front measuring maybe 2in. x 2in. or so. I tried to pinpoint the sound by ear and it seems it may be from this appendage though I might be mistaken. Furnace seems to be running fine otherwise. Ideas?

Post a pic of the control. Probably has a transformer inside it which can buzz and is not a problem unless it gets REAL loud.

Mine's been doing that for 3 years now. I only hear it when I'm in the basement doing laundry. So I'm not wasting money putting a new one on.

OP: Post pic. we like pics. :) And I do mean of the control.

I'm not currently at the house to take a picture, but it looks very similar to the one found in the link below. I will take the image of actual later.

The sound is only detectable from the basement and snugging down the screws an 1/8 turn made it almost inaudable. It is still there though. The sound wasn't a familiar one so thats what brings me here. Thanks
