Honeywell Electric Thermostat Model T498

Recently a technician replaced two electric baseboard heating units in my apartment. Unfortunately, he/she was unable to reconnect the thermostat to the units. The thermostat now works like a light switch, on/off. The one baseboard unit makes a loud humming noise and once turned on, within 20-30 minutes the temperature is between 70-80 degrees fahrenheit:confused:

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as weather predictions are for cold and snowy weather within the next 24-48 hours.

Thanks.

Looks like you might be on line so I'll take a stab at it.<P>

I believe your baseboard electric is required to be on a working thermostat. If you are not the owner of your apartment I would demand that the situation gets fixed pronto. If you are the owner I would call and electrician soon. At the very least they have controls that mount on the baseboard. Hopefully someone will be along here soon and can confirm that a stat is required. HS.
