home humidification without forced air heat?

I am getting tired of filling a large cumbersome console humidifier in my ~1100sqft new england home. I have forced hot water heating and *some* old ductwork in the house. I would like to move to a permanent type installation that I don't have to drag around and fill at the sink. I am only concerned about the main living space as the majority of the house is an open design. I know there are humidifiers I can add on to an existing forced hot air system. I was hoping to pick a few brains on what people thought on alternative installation practices in my situation? It has to be permanently plumbed and reasonably cost effective. Thoughts?

home humidification without forced air heat?

not to mention 4 times the cost of the other options, not cost effective at all. I just discovered the aprilair 360 and so far that appears to be the best most cost effective option for my home. Anyone ever work with one of these? Are they reliable?

If you have the room, they work fine.
