We're not talking about liquid water.
Take a cup of hot water vapor and throw it into the air on a really cold day.

But does anybody know what the exhaust is made up of?
I can remember when I was a kid playing in dryer vent steam in the winter time.
Is this the same stuff?

The exhaust from a gas furnace contains water, Carbon Dioxide, sometimes carbon Monoxide. Not something to really play in.
