hi..........going to install a vent hood where there is none now.


question about the pipe that needs to be used....i have seen deomonstrations useing both a rigid pipe and a flex pipe life for the dryer.....which is correct

Hard pipe with the joints taped instead of screwed. Insulate any that goes through unconditioned space such as an attic.

Be sure to observe all applicable codes when terminating the vent. For example, I see so many dryer vents terminated too close to gas meter regulators.
