I have a Carrier A/C (model 58RAV, downflow), its blower stopped working a few day's ago. When turning on, I can hear sound that the motor is attempting to start, but the blower never rotates. The capacitor and other electronics seem fine. So I decide to replace the blower.
At step 2, it says "disconnect short piece of vent pipe from relief box", but there is no chart or any detailed info on how to disconnect them. It seem almost impossible to disconnect them without a major work.
Can anyone please give some pictures or detailed info on how to disconnect them?
Well you have a counterflow furnace and need to remove the vent pipe in order to get the blower out.
There should be at least 3, 1/4in sheet metal screws, in the pipe at the relief box. Unscrew them, and the ones in the first section of pipe where it comes out of the furnace. Pull the pipe apart, reassemble the same way.
