Help! My outdoor fan won't engage!!??

Turned on my heater, but only getting air out of one vent, probably from the large attic unit. Checked for power going to my exterior fan box in the backyard and there is power. So now it boils down to either the electronic controls not engaging the unit or the fan motor is bad.

What information do you guys need to help trouble shoot?

The outside fan box says Carrier, home was built in 2006, looks like the unit in the attic says Honey Well ventilation controls.

do you have LEDs on the stat and or a board blinking leds trying to see if you have 24Vs with lights...do you get FAN/ON from the stat switch.keep in mind the attic air handler is on a seeperate breaker then the outside condensing unit..and i'm thinking it is a heat pump

Help! My outdoor fan won't engage!!??

On the attic unit there's a solid RED led that's on the side of the unit.

I don't see anything that says fan off and on in the LED display from my climate control unit. But when I engage the fan I am only getting air from one vent.

I don't think it's the heat pump, here's my reason why.. Even when I engage the Air conditioning setting the fan won't even engage.

What do you think?

wait, what is your problem? You stated only blows out of one vent? Only the inside unit is going to blow air out of the vents in your home. Is that outdoor unit even a Heat pump? It will have no effect as to air delivery indoors. It may (if it is a heat pump) have an effect on the air being heated.

Help! My outdoor fan won't engage!!??

HVACTECH.. I have just figured out that the upstairs climate controls are starting to go bad. Apparently I have to move the heat switch around to get it to engage. So now I can engage both the up stairs heater and the downstairs heater just fine. By the way, you were right, I don't think I have a heat pump outside.

HOWEVER, here's why I thought only one vent was working! I am getting only ONE vent with good air pressure downstairs and I can BARELY feel the air from the other vents. SAME with the upstairs, I have one vent upstairs with lots of air pressure and most of the other vents lack air pressure!?

Last year, I clearly remember all my vents were pushing down strong air pressure.

The dish network guy was in the attic the other day, do you think he could of damaged my vent tubing??
