Help diagnosing an AC problem

Hello all!

I have a Rheem unit that is about 19 years old, and recently, it's started doing this thing where after it runs for about 2 or 3 days straight (or in the case of really hot days, possibly only 1) and then air will stop blowing out of the vents in the house. I changed the filter about a week ago. If I turn it off overnight and let it sit, it will work fine again for a few more days. It also seems like when it is on, it is constantly running. Any thoughts? Thank you!

next time you notice the fan stops during the cooling .....shut it off at the furnace pop the fan cover and feel the motor casing if it is too hot to touch might be on its way out...some motors have thermal overloads within and shut down after long runs even with the cooling running.is it dust free and might take oil...try to free spin it at the squirrel it it brakes hard stop action it is on its way out

Your a/c might be low on charge. Have you noticed if any ice is forming on your outdoor unit, or indoor evaporator coil. If ice covers your evap coil you will lose your air flow, after you have turned it off overnight that ice will melt and everything will seem fine until it happens all over again.
