HEIL HVAC Problem - Not kicking on

Big thanks to you Doc (and Yuri) for the help and putting up with me....means a LOT to me.

I've got the transformer pulled out now and I'll go get one in the morning and pop it in. With luck, I have the new board hooked up correctly and it will all work when I get the transformer in. I'll let you know one way or the other.

Looks like the transformer black/hot is connected to the neutral which is wrong and won't feed any power to it. Doubt that the green wire goes there but I cannot see what terminal it is on. If the wiring diagram is still on the back of the blower door try follow it. Get a/some 3 or 5 amp GM type auto fuses and splice it in the power from the transformer to the board with stakon connectors to protect it (transformer).

Yes, it sure as hell is backwards on those transformer leads! Thanks for noticing! Glad the transformer had no power coming out.

That green ground wire is on E10 (there's a photo of the board with no wires on it so you can see where that is - next the stat connections). On the old board, it was on the "C" connection beside the stat connections (see the photo of the old board with and without the wires connected for that one).

There was no wiring diagram for the old controller board on the unit, only what came with the new board I'm uploading the scans of the new boards wiring diagram to the same album as the other photos if it helps.

HEIL HVAC Problem - Not kicking on

Gentlemen, it was indeed the transformer!!!! Went and bought a new one this morning, put it in and it kicked right on as soon as I put the door back on!!!

I switched all the wiring back over to the old fan controller board and it ran perfect as well. Reason I did that is because I talked to the owner of the HVAC supply store and she said that she'd give my $120 back so long as the board didn't look like it had been used - which it doesn't and I have all the packaging in perfect shape.

Doc, Yuri, I can't tell you how much help you have been and how much I appreciate all you've put up with. I should have checked the transformer straight away, but being hot and ticked off never helps one's reason, does it? I owe you a bottle of your favorite poison

These should do, glad you got it going. Parts changing usually does not work out but troubleshooting does.

HEIL HVAC Problem - Not kicking on

Just an update but it's been 4 days now, it's been 100 degrees outside most of that time, and it's stayed a nice cool 72 degrees in the house the whole time. :D Again, thanks for all the help with this. Got it working the day before it turned ungodly hot....perfect timing.....lol
