Heil Heat exchanger recall

hammy Newbie   Join Date: Mar 2010 Posts: 3	Heil Heat exchanger recall How can I find out if my Heil unit has a recall on the heat exchanger? It was installed in 1999. The flame roll out switch is tripping but there is no noticable change in flame when fan starts. Ive done a lot of searching on line and there seems to be a consensus that there was / is a recall on HE. Thanks Hammy

yuri Hvac Pro   Join Date: Nov 2008 Location: Winnipeg, Canada Posts: 6,602	Heil Heat exchanger recall There is no RECALL on the heat exchanger. A lot of them fail from the furnace being overfired (gas pressure too high) or lack of airflow etc. You need to get an experienced ICP, Heil tech to check the unit and find out why it is tripping. The heat exchanger has a warranty but the labor to replace it is not covered. __________________ "Cut it twice and it is still too short". hammy Newbie   Join Date: Mar 2010 Posts: 3	Heil Heat exchanger recall Thanks for the info on the over fire of the unit. Is there any visual signs of it over firing. Damage etc. ( just for my information?) Hammy
