Heil furnace Won't work.

I have a Heil SP80 furnance that will not work. Two years ago the igniter went out and was replaced. The igniter appears to working ok. The blower is working it just apears to not be getting gas to the igniter. Note: The gas is turned on. If you have any ideas please let me know.

If the igniter is lit and it is still not firing up, the next thing i would look at would be the thermocouple. This is a thin piece of copper tubbing attached to the igniter assembly, which detects heat from the igniter, if it can not detect that the igniter is lit, it will not open the gas valve-hence no heat! These are pretty cheap and tend to go quite often, it could be other things, but this is prob the most common.

Also remove igniter and clean with a metal brush or fine sand paper. If the flame has a yellow tip-it needs to be cleaned.

Heil DC 90 with burner issues

I just corrected a problem with this particular furnace when the burners either don't ignite or go out. I just spoke with an HVAV tech and it's one of two problems 1) it's the flame sensor and can be cleaned with sandpaper or replace it. 2) it's the honeywell smart valve, a) wedge a piece a folded paper against the main wiring harness where it plugs into the housing this will make it have better contact, b) replace the gas valve itself around $100 for the part. I cleaned the flame sensor and so far it's working.
