heil furnace

I'am also an unhappy heil furnace owner. My problem started at the end of last winter. Its seems like when my furnace lites, there's a small explosion. It blows the small intake bushing out of the furnace onto the floor. After that it heats up the house fine. But every time it lites it does it again. The flue is open,[PVC]the burners are clean, the exniter is new. Both heat exchancer were replaced two years ago.I went out side an the blower is working.Any ideas, Iam really going nuts over this. The furnace was put in 97, DC 90.I would really appreciate any help that you could give me. Thank you, sutcha

My furnace did the same thing last year. It didnt blow parts off, however it was rather annoying. I noticed that every since the gas company replaced my regulator it hasnt happend. Perhaps the main gas regulator is bad? I am in no way an expert, and I dont know my a$$ from a hole in the ground when it comes to these things, but it sounds familar to the problem I had.

You can read my post about the problem twards the end here-

First thing to check is the manifold gas pressure to the burners, then the burner orfices and crossovers.

Checking the gas pressure requires a manometer and gas pressure should be around 3.5 in wc

When dealing with gas if you can't figure it out pretty easy call a pro. A service call is cheaper than a casket.

I did come across one that had a flex gas line connecting the gas valve to the supply and the flex line had a small hole from rubbing on the furnace case.

Usually the gas company will check your meter and regulator for free!

In my case they replaced BOTH free of charge. Where else you going to find a casket for free? LOL

heil furnace

Thanks for all your input,Furnace is up an running. Did call the gas company an they came out an checked the pressure. That was sat,he came in an checked the furnace. I ran it threw a cycle, an he couldn't believe the small explosion. Anyway, I went with a new gas valve an that cured my problem. The old gas valve was sv9500m 2647, the new is sv9501m 2056.Again,Thanks:no: Hope this helps someone.

HEIL 1993 (7000) exhaust fan

My Heil Super High Efficiency 7000 furnace has worked great except for, after 8 years of service I had to replace the exhaust fan (blower), at started to squeal and then stopped working. Another 8 years latter the same thing, except it only squeals 1 out of every 5 to 10 start-ups. Is there some thing causing this or does it just have an 8 year life expectancy?
