Heating/AC Requirements?

Hello All,

What are the requirements of heating and AC if a new addition was to be built?

Can the heating and AC from the existing structure be used to heat the addition or does there need to be a heat source or duct into the new addition.

I am planning to put a Ductless heat pump out in the new addition but it is pretty comfortable without it (the main house is heating it just fine).

I am not sure how they will take to this when final inspections come.

THanks!

Yes it can be pulled from the existing system. As long as the existing system can handle it. I do not know where you live. The heat is normally not an issue, cooling is usually your problem. I would advise you have a Hvac contractor to look at it for sizing requirements. Just out of curosity what size is the addition?
