Heatilator NDV4236il Fireplace

Our new house came with a Heatilator NDV4236il Pro Pane Fireplace and just had the gas installed and the gasman showed me how to operate it with a remote ,
It came with 2 bags one witch looks like black coal and a small bag of sand? How do I add this ? Does some one have a pic on how these are added below the logs? This is my first time.

Yes pg.56
I guess I place the charcoal on the pan below the wood , an then sprinkle the Vermiculite on top.
It says (refer to Figure 15.4). But it jumps from Figure 15.3 to Figure 15.5 there was no pic of it?

There may be other install manuals online that have the pic. I don't work on those things, so i can't tell you how they are placed, other then what those instructions said.

Well I hope I did it right , I place the Rock Wool on the pan {not to cover the holes} then I added the lava rock and sprinkle the Vermiculite on top. It look blueish in the in the front and yellow flames in the middle. To me it still did not look right will play with it when I move in.

I would think so. But it may be a slow air movement that you don't feel it far away.
