Now that we were able to remove soldered cap on my bathroom shower flange and recover the shower feature in this bath (see the other thread), our next step is to handle that heater register vent (see photo below):
I guess we have two options here:
I would like to hear your opinions about which option would make better sense to you. Apparently, if we move up the vent, this bath will still be able to enjoy heat during winter (which is a big plus)... however, I don't know if there will still be any possibility or concern that water might still permeate through the vent and whether that would damage the furnace. On the other hand, if we are to block the current vent and re-tile it, that seems to be a safer option but then we will lose heat in this bath. Thoughts or comments? How would you handle such a case (especially from HVAC perspective)?? Many thanks!

- Move the current heat register vent UP to close to the ceiling (so that shower water won't go into the vent)
- Complete "block" the vent and then put up tiles to cover it up (yes we were able to find idential tiles)
