Heater not turning on

When I set the thermostat to heat, it doesn't turn on. I hear a click on the thermostat, but nothing happens. It says on the thermostat display that it is set to heat and we have tried turning up the temperature to 80, but still nothing. We called a repair guy, but they won't come out until Monday. Any ideas on what I can check? I don't know much about my system, but if anybody has any questions I'll do my best to answer them if it will help. Thanks.

BTW, it wasn't working when it started getting cold then last week my wife was messing with the thermostat and it came on. She doesn't remember what she did, but it hasn't turned on since we turned it off that day.

I don't have any pics of the unit, but I'll try to get some tomorrow. Here is the thermostat. Sorry about the quality.
What kind of tests?

Heater not turning on

Is it on the roof or in the attic?

Is what on the roof or in the attic? We can only help you as much as you help yourself.

Sorry, I was in the wrong topic. I'll take a look at the control panel in the morning.

Not sure what I'm looking at, but that is with the panel taken off.

Heater not turning on

You can take the thermostat off its base and pigtail a wire to the Rh and W on the base to bypass the thermostat as the possible problem.
(MY wife often "touches" things she'd like to see replaced)
Is the breaker or an external on/off switch for the furnace "on"?
The picture you sent shows a roll out switch on the left side of the burners which has a reset button. This may restart your furnace but indicates other problems that will need to be addressed.
Do you see a flashing led light on the control that looks like it has a spark plug wire attached to it.

These would be things to first start checking out and report back about.

I don't see an LED light. Here is a better pic of the burners. ( I think these are the burners)

I connected the Rh and W wires and the heat came on. So I have a bad thermostat?
