Heater doesn't work...help...

I am a new homeowner.

The heater (which is part of a roof mounted central AC/heater) doesn't work anymore.

I had the controller on auto-heat, and now it doesn't automatically blow heat.

I tried heat with fan, and the unit just blows cold air.

Ideas? Walkthroughs?

Thanks.

Hi LRAO

Can you tell us what make and model of unit you have. This will be a big help in determining the needed course of action. I bet we can help you, there is a lot of good talent on this site.

Good luck
Rusty

Yea, we need a little info. Is it a heat pump or gas pack (natural gas). Have you gone to look at the unit on the roof? If so, what have you noticed when you call for heating?

I just wrote down the info.

Natural gas goes to it.

It says BDP, a Division of Carrier.

There's also a logo of Payne on it.

Model #: 585CJ03675

Product #: 585CJW036075AAAF

Input Rate of (Min) 60,000 to (Max) 75,000 BTU/Hour.

Does this help?

Hi LRAO

I am going to be the bearer of bad news. These particular combination unit could have several problems that will keep it from working. It could be a tripped limit that needs reset, ignition module not working, pilot plugged, fuse blown, transformer bad, etc. I dont want to sound negative, but if your are unsure of what you are doing. Please do not attempt repairs on this unit call the pro's.

Good luck
Rusty
