Heat Won't Shut Off

I have a 1998 Bryant model 383KAV024045 Gas furnace. The unit runs with heat activated with blower and flame no matter what the thermostat calls for (Off, Heat on, AC ON, and above and below set temp in all modes) The only way I can shut it down is to cut the gas and wait a few minutes for cooling so I can cut the power. Any ideas what the problem is? I'm thinking a relay or something?

I already tried replacing the stat.

Ideas would help.

sounds like it may be the board, inspect it for areas that appear to be burnt or charred, also check that your thermostat is not mis-wired.
