heat upstairs not downstairs

I let my oil tank run out of oil and had it primed. Now my hot water is working and my heat is working upstairs but not downstairs what could this be?

Do you have a oil fired boiler that heats the domestic hot water and the house both? Do you have separate zones and thermostats for upstairs and downstairs. Post some pics of the boiler etc and that will help.

Yes it is a oil fired boiler that heats the domestic hot water and the house. I separate zones and thermostats for upstairs and downstairs. I will post some pictures but I have to charge my camera first.

I am going to take the pictures tonight. A couple of answers I have heard are a pipe could have froze, a valve could have broke, or a problem with a zone vent. I also wondering if this could have been something wrong with the prime.

Not if the burner runs and heats hot water. You may have any of those other problems.

Thanks for your help, but I have found out the problem, a pipe burst on Friday
