I finally checked the current settings and was suprised to find that I did not have option 0240 or 0250 available to program even though an earlier option indicated the thermostat was set for a 3 heat cycle 2 A/C cycle system. My thermostat is a Honeywell TH8320u10008. Wired with red jumpered to R&RC, Orange to O/B, Yellow to Y, Green to G, Blue to C, Black to Y2, White to Aux which is jumpered to E.

Heat Pump vs Aux Electric Heat

Just moved from Florida to North Carolina. House has two heat pump units 2.5 ton each and total sq ft. is 2900. Two story home. House has one Trane that operates biggest part of the house and carrier upstairs. No nothing about heat pumps since Florida is so warm. Concerned that not operating correctly or settings are incorrect as the systems seem to never shut off.
