Heat Pump Filter Dryer

I have A Heat Pump with a vapor line filter dryer on it, the filter dryer is a standard one way dryer, not a by-flow. my question is will this filter dryer work on a heat pump without causing a problem?

Heat Pump Filter Dryer

Yes, and no.

In heat mode. The dirt will tend to be forced out of it. If its installed on the vapor line outside of the unit.
If its installed between teh reversing valve and compressor. no problem.

Cut it out, and repipe where it is. And then remove the old LLFD install a new LLFD.

Thumbs up

Heat Pump Filter Dryer

THE BEST THING YOU SHOULD DO IS GET A BI-FLOW DRIER WHICH IS THE ONE THAT HEAT PUMPS SHOULD HAVE. YOU DON't WANT ANY MOISTURE OR DIRT GOING BACK TO YOUR COMPRESSOR.
