Heat pump cooling decreases over 4 hours

Our 18 year old ClimateMaster 2 stage GEO heat pump just got 2 new compressors and 2 new dryers and both stages got a new load of R-22.

Tech (12 years experience at a big commercial/residential company) ran unit for about 30 minutes after the repair and both stages looked good with no leaks. He has been back twice for the problem outlined below and says the system if fine, pressures good, no leaks. But.....

Yesterday (Saturday), when the first stage starts up the temperature of the return air was 78 and the supply air was 60, difference of 18, so far so good (outside temp 82).

Over the next four hours the temperature difference slowly decreases until it reaches about 1-2 degrees.

If I turn the unit off and back on in five minutes the difference immediately goes back to 18 and the slow drop starts again.

As I write this, I'm remembering that it did the same thing during the last heating season (before the compressor replacement) only the return and supply air temperatures went in the other direction. Then the electric auxiliary heat would kick in.

The Tech has new start capacitors on order so he'll be back this week when they come.

What can I do to get more info/data to point him in the right direction?
