heat pump coil gurgling

raylo32 Member     Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Maryland (DC 'burbs) Posts: 706	heat pump coil gurgling Visiting some folks and when the heat pump kicks on for a heat cycle they get about 3 seconds of very loud gurgling flow noise in the indoor coil. Does this sound like air in the system? Or is the TXV bleeding pressure down when it is off? Otherwise it seems to work OK. __________________ Live long and prosper.

beenthere An old Tradesmen   Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: PA Posts: 18,615	heat pump coil gurgling Some liquid refrigerant is probably in the coil or the large line near the coil and your hearing it move through the indoor coil. Not an unusual noise for some systems.
