Is this heat exchanger cracked?

Kindly look at the video:

I am trying to figure out if the heat exchanger is cracked or the burners are just dirty. The flames (though blue) dance around from the start, the blower motor comes on at ~ 39sec and appears to disturb the flames a bit.

The furnace is UltraSX90

Looks OK to me but every furnace should be checked once a year for normal maintenance and safety reasons.

Yuri, thanks for the message. What about the flames melding into each other and rising above the burners - even when the blower is not running? This is a ultra sx 90 furnace.

That does not look totally normal to me (on my large PC monitor, laptop looked OK earlier) but I don't see too many Armstrongs if that is what it is where I am. You may have a partially plugged heat exchanger and are on the verge of flame rollout. You definitely need to get a experienced tech to check the firing rate/gas pressure etc B4 it gets worse. Which brand is it.

Cannot be cleaned, passages inside are too small to run a brush thru. Secondary coil cannot be cleaned either.

That is an armstrong 90+ with inside air and it comes with a lifetime waranty.
HVAC126 Where you got the idea they fail all the time? I was an Armstrong dealer for several years and installed several of the 90%ers.

That furnace in the video is using inside air or has the cover off the burner section and is a victim a victim of no service or bad service.

We had a lot of customers who against our express written instructions would build rooms around them with no accommodation for combustion air.

During the last housing boom we had a number of calls from some of those installs who wanted to claim a heat exchanger warranty. The home inspectors found them during the selling process.

Every one of them had been choked for combustion air form the walls built around them.

We refused to submit a fraudulent claim.

Other than that those were good solid units.

The Concord line of 90 % furnaces had a twenty year ht ex warranty which I think you might be confusing them with.

Lifetime to the original purchaser..... 20 to secondary owners "
HEAT EXCHANGERS

The covered residential heating equipment’s heat exchanger is warranted by Allied for a Limited Lifetime (standard 20 Year Limited Warranty) from date of original installation, except
as provided below.
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser of the unit and cannot be transferred. If during this period, a covered part fails because of a defect in materials or workmanship
under normal use and maintenance, Allied will provide a free replacement part to the purchaser through an Armstrong Air, Air Ease, Ducane or Concord dealer or other licensed
service contractor through an authorized Allied distributor. The purchaser must pay shipping costs, including labor, of the warranty service."

It also must maintained according to the manufactures specs each year for the warranty to truly be applicable.
