heat exchanger
we had trouble with our heater. It is a gas pack and they found it has a crack in one of the heat exchangers. They said it should not be fixed as the system is 13 years old.We do not have the money to replace the system. Please help

Either need a new system.
Or that heat exchanger must be replaced. Ask them the cost of both. And get a second opinion or price on both options. |

Is a good chance a 13 yr old htx is still under warranty.

In addition to the above find out if the heat exchanger caused the problem or if the crack was simply found and the reason for no heat still is there.
Bottom line is you'll need to do something which could be buy space heaters for now and do the replace/repair when you can afford it. Perhaps the company will sell the exchanger to you for DIY install, doubt it but worth asking. |
