Have oil hot water, switch to electric?
I have a oil hot water boiler that produces our hot water. I just can't see running the oil boiler in warmer weather to make hot water. Is it worth my time to add an electric hot water heater and is there a way to connect it to use only in warm weather and the boiler when you need heat in the house. I'm just kicking this idea around and searching for some answers.

Well electric hot water heaters burn a lot of energy. You can have it for use in the summer only simply by using a switch. But then you would use oil hot water in winter? just stick with the oil.

Done a lot of conversions from oil with tankless coil to electric water heater.
It saves a lot of money on the water heating bill year round. Using a boiler with a tankless coil for domestic hot water is a very big waste of money. |
