I have a squirrel cage fan that is unused. I'm wanting to wire it as a stand alone fan. I'm need assurance that i'm reading the schematic right. I'm seeing white is common leg to plug and black and blue the other two with orange and red connected only to each other. Is this correct? Sorry for image clarity.

That is how I read as well...

L1 - White
L2 - Black/Blue
Connect Red/Orange together

Speed control.

The fan runs fast and only takes in air through on side of cage that its really loud. I have other similar fan that I can rearrange wire to adjust fan speeds. Is there any way could it be done? I tried it by switching wire around on this one with no luck. Please give details?
