Goodman Furnace gas firing but shuts off

I have an 8 year old Goodman furnace that is located in my attic that is not working correctly. The furnace gas fires up for a short time and then completely turns off. The fan starts then the igniter lights the gas which then turns on for anywhere from 10 to 20 seconds then entire furnace will turn off and start the process over. The problem doesn’t occur every time the furnace lights. It appears to me that the problem occurs when the furnace has not been lit for a while. I've had a tech at the house 7 times now and he has replaced the following parts. Flame sensor, main board, and wiring harness. I'm now waiting for a new high limit switch to be installed. Any ideas on what could be happening with this furnace?

The circuit board may be poorly grounded/lost it's grounding. Have the tech install a green piece of #14 stranded wire from the plate it mounts on to the ground wire connection where it enters the furnace. Common problem with some of the Goodmans. Make sure the furnace is grounded properly, Check for continuity to a cold water line. Have the tech install a ground wire from the burner manifold screws to the circuit board plate also.

Yuri, thanks for the post. I also have a Goodman furnace that has this same problem intermittently. It seems to be worst at the beginning of the season, and as the furnace gets used the problem seems to go away. I will have to give this a try.

He should check the pressure switch.
It could be sticking.
Also, should check the HX, may have a crack.
