general hvac question
Hello, new to the site and new home owner. I'm very hands on and very handy with general carpentry and remodeling, but hvac and plumbing are very new to me. Just need some general (maybe stupid) questions answered. My 1945 cape cod has a chimney in terrible shape. I'd like to rip it out and expand the bathroom. I've learned that I'll need to upgrade the gas water heater to a direct vent model in order to vent through the wall. What options do I have to vent the forced air furnace through the roof without the use of a chimney? Do I need a new model or can I work with the existing one. It's a gas forced air Rheem model that's only 4 years old.
You'll need to run a B vent chimney for the furnace.
