Gas Won't stay on

I have a Adams Speedflame and I have replaced the thermo coupler after I light the pilot it stays on and the flame comes on. However it only runs for about 30 Seconds and the whole thing shuts off Pilot and all? Please help it is getting real cold up here in North East Ohio

Assuming this has some sort of combination valve...
the pilot safety function is the obvious suspect.

What else is on the control circuit?
Can you measure gas pressure?

Sounds like a chimney issue. What is you speedflame burner running? An old oil furnace I would imagine. Check for chimney blockage.

Also check the pressure, too much pressure and you'll blow the limit and all shut down.

Thank You so much for the information, I found out that the new thermo coupler was not in the proper place. It extended out too far from the pilot light. I pushed it back so just the tip was showing in the pilot flame and once again we are warm in North East Ohio.

Well yeah, that's how they work. Current flow due to the electrical properties of dissimilar metals.

I know I am a dummy but it was the first time I worked on a furnace I knew what and how they worked. It happened when I was putting all back together again I forgot to use the little clip they provided and it slipped out of place.

Anybody can make a mistake. At least you got in there and did it, and fixed it. A dummy would have said "uuuggghhhhh whats a furnace?"
