Gas Furnace Ruud Super Quiet 80 ignition problems
This furnace is a RUUD 2005 model UGLO-07EAMER. It has been having this same problem for the two years that I have owned this house. It works fine, until one day it will not start. One light is on and one is flashing. A technician came out 9 months ago and could not find anything wrong because it decided to work when he was here, then he shook some wires and the furnace came on and off, like there was a short, so he crimped the wires better and then it started up and worked fine. Last week it would not start in the morning but 2 hours later it did. Today it is not starting again. It has a clean filter and no vent restrictions.

I found out that the noise is a circuit that clicks when the furnace comes on or shuts off.

Are there any parts that I can clean, which may make the furnace work?
Thanks

Sounds to me like you could have a bad connection on the inducer fan pressure switch or the switch sensing tube has moisture in it, or the sensing tubing loose, or the switch itself is bad.

Well looking at the manual for the furnace it appears to be just left of the inducer fan, its a round molded plastic switch with a plastic or rubber hose running from it to the inducer fan discharge.

I took the hose off and cleaned out the hole where the tube goes into the fan with a paper clip, and the hose had a small damaged spot so I taped up that. It is now working, so maybe I will not have to replace the switch, but it has worked before and stopped so I will just have to see. Thanks much for the help.

Is the induer fan coming on? That's the little fan that exhausts the burned gases out through the exhaust flue pipe through your roof, has the little hose attached between it and the pressure switch.
