gas furnace

In a gas furnace does the stainless steel flue chimney ever need to be cleaned? no conversion from coal or oil, original gas.

The chimney part going out of the house is usually aluminum as stainless is very expensive. If the furnace is maintained/burning cleanly it does not need chimney cleaning but the chimney should be inspected for corrosion etc internally.

Good luck not breaking it even if you wanted to clean it.

All liners made of aluminum weaken at the top after so many years of use and would pull apart if cleaning was attempted.
Just slow, not stupid.
