Gas Furnace

How many people here actually shut off the supply to their gas furnace during offseason?

Gas Furnace

Never. Only time I have ever turned it off, is when my guy does a seasonal check on the furnace or water heater. Last time I turned off the gas, was to replace a shut off for our stove.

Gas Furnace

If its a fairly new furnace with spark ignition or hot surface ignition then there is no need to touch it.If its a live pilot furnace then shut her off.
