Gas Fireplace Pilot Flame

I have a Dovre gas fireplace. The Pilot flame will not stay lit and appears to be too low and is not hitting the Thermocouple. I tried to adjust the flame higher using the adjustment screw on the gas valve but the flame did not increase. The pilot light is blue in color, and is about 3/4" long. Does this mean the gas valve needs to be replace since I can not get a bigger pilot flame to hit the thermocouple properly? Or is there a way to move the thermocouple closer to the pilot light so it is within the flame?

Has it just started this?

Tear the pilot assembly apart and clean it up. The orifice hole is itty bitty so just a little dirt will restrict the flow enough to cause problems.
