furnace wont run

Help! I have a coleman oil furnace in my garage. I went out yesterday to turn it on,NOTHING. The breaker was o.k. I tried the reset, it didnt do anything, the stat was turned up above room temp.I hope its not serious, the furnace is 5 yrs. old, and worked fine last winter. I was thinking maybe the stat because it is dirty and dusty out there. My tanks are full & my main furnace runs fine on the same oil. I need some help with one! Thanks

No standing pilolight. It is your plane jane oil furnace.

Hi papabear

I take care of a lot of waste oil heaters, They are the kind that burn used motor oil, transmission fluid, etc. Is this what your talking about. If not what kind of oil does it burn.

Hi again papabear

Are you talking about LP gas? I know that there are many names used for it but I can't help you unless I am sure of the fuel source. If its propane you might just need a hot surface ignitor, if thats so its easy to install. If you could let me know the model of the furnace that would help a bunch. It sounds like its a DGAA or a DGAT model furnace.

Good luck

It is a coleman oil furnace. Pretty much the size that is used in mobile homes.

Hi papabear

I am going to take a stab in the dark that you could have a limit switch tripped. But thats as far as I am willing to go, I'm sorry to dissapoint you but I don't want to give out misinformation. There may be one of the others that have experience with this type of furnace. Going to let one of them help you. If it were a waste oil or a gas furnace I could help you. Once again sorry I could not help, if you don't get the response you need get ahold of your local HVAC contractor.

Good luck
Rusty
