Furnace Troubles

the age has nothing to do with too small of ductwork....I am working with a customer now with a 10 year old furnace that cycles on the limit....been doing it since it was new and the homeowner never noticed.

Furnace Troubles

Thanks for the replies. I cleaned the flame sensor. The filter is less than a month old and looks clean. I don't think the ductwork is an issue and I don't see anything blocked or particularly messy. The problem I'm having right now is that my igniter is not even glowing (which is what has been giving me trouble the whole time before I noticed the burner putting itself out within a couple minutes). Before, I was able to get it to come on and ignite the burners. The problem then was that the burner went out within a minute or two.

Furnace Troubles

On the aforementioned Lennox furnace that I thought was a bad ignitor as it woudn't light with full voltage to it, old ignitor and brand new one, it ended up being the pressure switch tube port of the draft inducer motor partially clogged. Weird thing was the pressure switch would close and open with inducer on and off as normal but it wouldn't allow the furnace to light up until I cleared the port.

Hope that helps.

Furnace Troubles

Got the furnace fixed. Apparently the issue was my high limit switch. I thought I had replaced it, but it was the roll out switch that I replaced. I told the parts store that I needed the high limit switch and brought in the roll out switch being misinformed and yet they still gave me the wrong part.....
