furnace trouble
I have a DAY/NIGHT furnace that is approximately 15 to 20 years old, and when I tried to fire it up for the first time this fall season, it would only blow out cold air. So after inspecting the inner workings, I noticed that the control board and wiring harness had been scorched. So I replaced them, reset the limit switch, jumped the limit switch, jumped the roll out switch, but still the furnace is blowing cold air and the main burners aren't firing. The pilot light is getting lit by the electronic ignition, but after that takes place, the main burners will not fire. I know, call a pro or just buy a new furnace, however, I have my Grandpas genetics, and until I have exhausted every resource, I will try to fix it myself or I will buy a new furnace. I did notice that what appears to be a solenoid valve on top of the gas valve was heating up. Could this be a culprit?? I welcome any suggestions, thank you!!
