Furnace short cycling

Hi,

I think the furnace in my cabin may be short cycling. It's a 10-15 year old high efficiency Rheem furnance. I noticed that the burner only runs for 60 seconds before cutting out only to refire again in 2-3 minutes and run for another 60 seconds and so on. Here's what I know so far:
  • Fan blower motor runs all the time. (stat doesn't have a Auto/On setting)
  • Vent motor seems to be working - I can stand outside and hear it run and watch it exhaust.
  • It's not cutting out because the temperature has been met - it only caught up to the set point during the day yesterday.
It was -2 F this morning and I was still able to hold 58 degrees in the main part of the house. Luckily I have a wood stove in the addition that keeps that part of the house toasty.

What could some possible problems be?

Furnace short cycling

Check the condensate trap, it might be plugged up. Should be located in the blower section.

I'll double check it, but I don't think it's plugged. It's draining condensate pretty well.
