Furnace running in fan mode?

Hi and thanks for the help.

We have 2 furnaces in our house but no AC ..
Temps are in the high 70's / low 80's and I am looking for some extra circulation ..

Is it OK to run the furnace in "Fan Mode" for extended periods of time?

The reason I ask is on our thermostat the fan settings are either On or Off which means we will eventaully leave it on when we leave the house or go to work, etc.

Is there any harm in having the fan on for hours/days at a time?

(both furncaces for what its worth are HE 95% Goodman and a york, less than 1.5 yrs old.)

Thanks again.

with no ac your going to just ciculate the swinging sun as it travels over the house, might be better leaving the upstairs windows open with screens...to cross vent

No harm from running the fan 24-7 except the marginal fan motor wear factor and you needing to pay more attention to the fan filters.

Furnace running in fan mode?

Should not be a fan off setting on your thermostat. As the thermostat can't shut off the fan during a heat call.

The fan motors in furnaces are designed to be able to run 24/7/365 with no harm to them.
