Furnace plenum size

Im in the process of changing my furnace and was wondering if the plenum has a serect formula to it? I dont have a furnace yet, but i was told thats the hard part cause it has to be custom made. I seen online where you can order a universal plenum in various sizes, would that do the trick?

Any info would be appreciated.

BTW, I have a pipefitter comming in to help do the gas part for me, im not crazy enough to touch that myself.

Furnace plenum size

Universal work well if cut down to the proper size. Usually math the opening of the furnace and the installation manual will give you the info you are looking for. Make it as tall as possible.
